Jerol "Jerry" Eugene Winterrowd

Jerol “Jerry” Eugene Winterrowd, 84, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 26, 1941, he was a son of the late Kenneth Harlan Winterrowd and Derelys Vergon Winterrowd and was the loving husband of Betty (Varner) Winterrowd.

Jerry was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina and retired from Blue Bell, Incorporated (Wrangler Division) and was the President of Assembly Express. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post #45 Inman and the Greensboro, NC Post while living there.

He had a servant’s heart and was an incredible Husband, Father, and Grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Christopher K. Winterrowd and his wife Pam and Roger Abernathy and his wife Dianne; one daughter, Kim Abernathy Shelton; three brothers, Terry Winterrowd and his wife Cheryl, Jan Winterrowd and his wife Lou Ann and Devery Winterrowd and his wife Kim; one sister, Marta Winterrowd Fraley; along with seven grandchildren, Samantha Winterrowd, Alexis Winterrowd, Sydney Winterrowd, Candice Cole (Sean), Paris Hunt (Jackson), Eric Abernathy (Bettie) and Shane Abernathy (Lynn) and ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Maralee Johnson and Avonna Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Jerry may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
