Jeffrey Gordon Pierce, 53, of 602 Dovetail Court passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from injuries received in a bicycle-automobile accident near Inman, SC. Mr. Pierce was born in Teaneck, N.J. on May 1, 1964 and was a son of Nelson Raymond Pierce and Margaret Anne Mackenzie Pierce of Burlington, NC. He was the loving husband of Renee (Lark) Pierce and a 5th Grade teacher at Inman Intermediate School. He was an honor graduate of Western Carolina University and earned his Masters of Education degree at Converse College. He was also a very active member of First Baptist North Spartanburg where he served as a deacon. He loved working with the youth and was active in his Sunday School Class. He was also an active member of the Inman Lion's Club where he was recently awarded the "Franklin Mason Award" . His family emphasized that he went from being a New Jersey native, to a North Carolina resident, to becoming an avid Clemson Fan and then a baptist ! He adored his family and especially his wife Renee and enjoyed any activity or sport involving the outdoors.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his two precious sons, Alexander Joseph Pierce and Chandler Neal Pierce of the home, his brother, Steve Pierce of Burlington, NC, his Mother and Father-in-Law, Joe and Shirley Lark of Inman, SC and his beloved dog "Maddie".
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Friday, July 14, 2017 in the First Baptist North Spartanburg Sanctuary. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will follow at 3:00 PM with Dr Michael Hamlet & Rev. Michael Jones officiating. If you are planning to attend the memorial service the family has asked that you wear Clemson colors, but if you are a fan of that other school and cannot bring yourself to wear purple and orange, wear bright colors, NO black please. The family will be at the home of Joe and Shirley Lark at 310 Fisherman's Cove, Inman, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either: Inman Lion's Club, 310 Fisherman's Cove, Inman, SC 29349 or to Inman Intermediate School's Fellowship of Christian Athletes , 10 West Miller St., Inman, SC 29349.
