Jb Helms

Spartanburg, SC---J B Helms, 70, of 150 Roberts Meadow Loop, passed away at his
home on February 26, 2010. A native of Monroe, NC, he was the son of the late James Nathan and Essie Price Helms and the husband of Alice Ramsey Helms. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.

Mr. Helms was a member, deacon, and elder of Second Presbyterian Church. He was a US Army veteran and a retired commercial masonry contractor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Noel Dee Helms and his wife Dori of
Spartanburg, Clay Matthew Helms of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Nathan Mitchell Helms and Isabel Frances Helms of Spartanburg; and one sister, Rachel Ann Purser of
Monroe, NC.

Private graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Greenlawn
Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Jones Brewer. Visitation will follow in the sanctuary at Ben Avon United Methodist Church from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ben Avon United Methodist Church, 2362
Avondale Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to the Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
