Janice "Jan" Sanders Babb, 75, of 295 Bryant Road in Inman, passed away Wednesday, May 5th, at her home.
Jan was born in Cherokee County on July 5, 1945, a daughter of the late Anna Camby Sanders and Lloyd Sanders and was the loving wife of Columbus Furman Babb of the home. Jan cared deeply for her husband and often referred to him as her perfect male specimen. Furman and Jan were married on December 1, 1989. Jan cared deeply for her blended family. She loved and adored each of them as her own. There was a very special place in her heart for her Babb grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jan was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy.
She was a homemaker, and had also worked at Olney Paint Company and Thorbon Jewelers.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two sons, Eric Gibson (Kimberly) of Inman, Jason Bryant (Clesta) of Inman, a daughter, Lisa Bradley (Mike) of Campobello; two sisters, Ruth Hyder of Union, Ila Owens (Ray) of Inman, a brother, Ken Sanders (Gail) of Prosperity; grandchildren; Amber Gibson, Erika Sisk (Kyle), Janna Cooke (Nic), Joshua Gibson, Dacey Bryant; her great grandchildren, Mac, Lillian Sisk, and Brynlee; and her fur babies; beloved dog, Sir-Van Babb, and two cats, Molly and Puss Puss Babb. In addition to her parents, Jan was also predeceased by a sister, Peggy Youngblood.
Visitation will be held 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 8th at Inman Mills Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM on Saturday at Inman Mills Baptist Church with Rev. John Hinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
