Elisa Jane Bishop Towery, 81, of 2902 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC, passed away Saturday, March 3rd, peacefully, at Maranatha Manor.
Mrs Towery was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 14, 1930, a daughter of the late, Martha E. (McAbee) and Elijah Defate Bishop and was the widow of Dean Howard Towery, Jr.
She retired from Belks and was a member of West View Church in Spartanburg
She is survived by
a daughter, Linda T Lawson, of Spartanburg; a son, Robert D Towery, of Roebuck; two sisters, Thelma Henderson, Shirley Edmonds
three brothers, Howard Bishop, Frank Bishop, G C Bishop,
6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Vickie Shuller, 3 sisters, Nellie M Bishop, Elizabeth B Green, Murzey L Bishop, and two brothers, William E Bishop and Thomas Durant Bishop.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Tuesday 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6th, with Rev. Stephen Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
