Mr. James E Smart, 76, of 304 Gardenview Drive, Inman passed away Sunday, December 27th, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Smart was born in Fairmont, SC on October 15, 1933, the son of the late Woodrow Smart and Carrie (Thomas) Lashley and was the husband of Martha Ann (Baynard) Smart.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Susan McAbee and husband Robert, Sandy Pearson and husband Billy all of Honea Path, SC, step-son: Thomas Coats and wife Lynne of Boiling Springs, step-daughter: Pamela Jane Hollifield and husband Mike of Spartanburg, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. He was predeceased by a son: James "Keith" Smart, a daughter: Rita Faye Gillis, a stepdaughter: Debra Coats and a grandson: Joshua R Shores.
He retired from T & K Maintenance in Spartanburg and attended Living Water Community Church
The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30th, with Rev Frank Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Home Care, 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
