James Willie ("Dick") Simmons

 James Willie "Dick" Simmons, 76, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Spartanburg, SC on December 20, 1945, a son of the late Edith Mae (Hayes) and William Robert Simmons. He was the husband of Jo Ann (Lee) Simmons having celebrated 42 years of marriage. 

He is survived by a son, Edward W. Simmons and his wife Brandy; three daughters, Lisa Ivester and her husband Rick, Tammie Simmons, and Sandy Blackwell and her husband Kevin; a brother, Billy Riggs; a sister-in-law Jackie Lee; and six grandchildren, LeeAnn Magnuson and her husband Josiah, Brittany Simmons, Lillie Blackwell, Elizabeth Simmons, Emily Blackwell, and Brody Simmons. He was predeceased by a brother, Furman Lee Simmons.

Dick was a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Cowpens,SC, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren,and he loved the Lord. He was a 1966 graduate of Boiling Springs High School where he lettered in baseball, and football, and was the quarterback for the 1966 championship team. He retired as an auto mechanic  from Ford Motor Company after 32 years of service.  

Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, 650 Battleground Road, Cowpens SC 29330 on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Steven Griffith, visitation will follow the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. View Christian Academy, 650 Battleground Road, Cowpens, SC 29330.
