Mr. James Alec Silverthorne, 62, of 518 Hammett Store Road, Lyman, SC passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Union County, SC.
Mr. Silverthorne was born in New Bern, NC on November 16, 1946, the son of the late James Earl and Jenna Mae (McRae) Silverthorne and was the husband of Gloria Marie (Bourgeois) Silverthorne.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 step-daughters: Frances Seay of Roebuck, Judy Hill of Russellville, Arkansas, 2 step-sons: Ed Foster of Ponchatoula, LA, Danny Foster of Harrison, Arkansas,12 Grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was owner/operator of Southern Bow Hunter, of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services and burial will be held in Ponchatoula, LA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718.
