James P. "Yankee" Peake

James P. "Yankee" Peake passed away on August 20, 2026 after a brief illness, he was 84. Born in Ashtabula, Ohio on August 11, 1942, he was the son of the late William and Frances (Dratwa) Peake.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He loved NASCAR, was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan; enjoyed watching both professional and college football and for many years enjoyed a good game of Horseshoes. He was also a Hot Rod enthusiast for many years, enjoying and participating in and attended car shows.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sheilah (aka Stella) Peake and his fur babies, Bella, Missy, Harriett and Squirt; sister, Patty Leroy of Seneca, SC; sister in law, Kathy Peake of Linesville, PA; two brothers-in-law, Larry (Lynn) Dobson and Danny Dobson and a dear friend, Lucy Arthur all of Central, SC, along with his extended family of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his stepfather, George Corbin and two brothers, Elbert Peake and Bill Peake.
