James Michael Wood

James Michael Wood, 62, of 114 Halibut Lane in Spartanburg, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his residence.

Mike was born in Spartanburg on November 20, 1962, a son of the late Doris Powell Drake and Bobby Harold Wood.

He was a 1980 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School and had worked in textiles. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his stepfather, Jerry Drake and his wife, Carol of Inman, a brother, Bobby Wood and his wife, Bonnie, of Spartanburg, three sisters, Cathy Sarmiento and her husband, Ricardo, of Duncan, Sandra Hawkins of Spartanburg, Kim Brock and her husband, Harold, of Reidville, nieces and nephews; Dustin Wood (Rebecca), Matt Wood, Cassie Lemus (Albert), Sierra Burrows (Jeremy), Amber Stevenson (Ricky), Ashley Smith (Ryan), Alisa Aldridge, and great nieces and nephews; James Wood, Adrian Lemus, Hayden Hoover, Liam Aldridge, Hunter Stevenson, Auroa Burrows, Addie Burrows, Sydney Stevenson, Cali Stevenson, and Charlotte Wood.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday, June 13th at Little Mountain Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 13th at Little Mountain Baptist Church in Wellford with Rev. Harold King officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
