Mr. James Harold McAbee, 69, of 730 Ballanger Rd. Inman passed away Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. McAbee was born in Spartanburg, SC the son of the late Allen Ray and Mary Ann (Hardin) McAbee and was the husband of Jane (Bishop) McAbee.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by Butte Knitt Mills for 17 years and then retired from Hudson International and was also a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife Jane, he is survived by one son James M. McAbee and his wife Lisa of Inman; one daughter Joan M. Hipp of Inman; one sister Lorene Thomas of Boiling Springs; three brothers Donnie R. McAbee, Gerold McAbee and his wife Diane and Steve McAbee and his wife Linda all of Inman. He was also survived by five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son-in-law Jon Hipp.
A memorial service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 11AM on Saturday, May 26th, with Rev. Mark Williams and Donavon McAbee (Nephew) officiating. Interment will be private.
The family is at the home of a brother Steve McAbee, 106 Grandview Dr., Inman and will receive friends Saturday 10:00-10:45AM at Seawright Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Bowen Baptist Church Building Fund 404 Sugar Ridge Rd. Inman, SC 29349 or Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29307.
