James Harvey Hylton, Sr., 83 of Inman, SC passed away April 28, 2018 due to injuries received in an accident while returning from a ARCA race at Talladega Speedway. James was born on August 26, 1934 in Pearisburg, VA a son of the late Sammie Ella Ferguson and William Preston Hylton. He was a former NASCAR and ARCA driver having raced for almost seven decades. Recently he had settled for car owner for driver Brad Smith of Shelby Township,
Michigan. James is survived by one brother, Bobby Hylton of Roanoke, VA, one sister, Isabelle Pittman of Sandston, VA, a half-brother, Melvin Hylton and a
half-sister, Sandra Walton, both of Roanoke, VA. The family is at the home of Evelyn Hylton, 115 Turpin Road, Inman and will receive friends Wednesday.
