James R. Hyatt, 77, of 1732 Riddle Road Pauline, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
James was born in Spartanburg on April 18, 1942, son of the late James Dupree and Evelyn Vise Hyatt. He first retired from Sears and Roebuck and later retired from The Church at the Mill where he was also a member. He was considered a Jack-of-all-Trades. James loved the Lord and listening to southern gospel music. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Helen Sue Hyatt; he is also survived by two daughters; Debbie Pruitt (Nelson) and Lori McDaniel both of Pauline, a brother; Dennis Hyatt (Diane) of Pauline, his grandchildren; Allen Pruitt (Arielle), Brooke Lowe (Joey), Clayton McDaniel, Bailie McDaniel, and one great granddaughter, Addy Grace Pruitt. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother, Steven Hyatt and son-in-law Billy McDaniel.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, March 14th in the chapel, of The Church at the Mill, conducted by Dr. D.J. Horton and Rev. Asheton Amerson. Visitation will be immediately after the service. The family is at the home of 1732 Riddle Road.
The family extends special thank yous to the staff at Carolina Dialysis Clinic.
