Jimmy "James" Carlton Hancock, 84, of 381 Wilkins Ford Road, passed away surrounded by his family on, Friday, January 3, 2020, at his residence. James was born in Lenox, Georgia on May 6, 1935, a son of the late James Oren Hancock and Dassie Mae Griner Hancock. He was the husband of Hazel June Robinson Hancock.
In addidtion to his wife, Mr. Hancock is survived his children, Gregg Hancock and his wife, Tammy; Dianna Sisk and her husband, Scott; Rebecca Ponce; Paul Johnson and his wife, Lisa; and Carmi Walden. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Adam, Heidi, Derrick, Tara, Nathan and Elijah, five great-grandchildren and uncle to several close nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hancock was predeceased by two beloved sisters, Carolyn Hinson and Lois Howell.
He was hard working, loved his family and friends, gardening, telling jokes, was a man of strong faith, and lived his life to the fullest. He remained positive to the very end, despite enduring a long and painful illness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
