James Vernon "Jimmy" Gregory
James Vernon "Jimmy" Gregory, 73, passed away on Monday, May 24th, at Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care.
Jimmy was born in Spartanburg on December 30, 1947, a son of the late Glenn Horace and Jessie Mae (Cox) Gregory. He was the husband of Linda Faye (Horton) Gregory and was the owner of James V. Gregory Surveying. He was a local history buff and was the author of several books on local history. He was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Jimmy is also survived by one son, Jamie Gregory (Tammy), one daughter, Gigi Bradley (Michael); two brothers, Jerry Gregory, and Jackie Gregory (Marsha). He was Big Daddy to his grandchildren, Jasmine Singletary (Justin), Katie Cantrell (Jason), Scarlett Coker (Jon), Jenna Bradley; and his great grandchildren, Serenity Singletary, Olivia Singletary, Aubrey Singletary, Gatlin Coker, and Tripp Coker.
Private services will be held.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Aldersgate Methodist Church, 690 Park Road, Inman, SC 29349.
