James Evington

Mr. James" Jimmie" Earl Evington, 76, of 5 Clover St. passed away, Saturday, December 13th, 2008 at Rosecrest Retirement Center.
Mr. Evington was born in Gramling, SC on April 12, 1932, the son of the late Jamie and Nannie Mae (Barnette) Evington and was the husband of Joyce Turner Evington.
He was a dedicated member of Gramling United Methodist Church, the Annie Fryga Sunday School Class and was a charter member of the Inman Masonic Lodge with 40 years of membership. He was also a shriner and served in the National Guard for 9 years. He had retired from Southern Railroad. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hamrick and her husband Grant of Inman, a son, Roger Ezell and his wife Christie of Spartanburg, a sister Libby Fowler of Inman, five grandchildren, Adam, Savannah, and Bailey Ezell, and Lauren and Landen Hamrick. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby and Larry Evington.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman.
Funeral services will be held at Gramling United Methodist Church in Gramling, SC, at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 16th, with Revs. Ben Herlong and David Caughman officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the daughter's home in Lakewinds, at 506 Windridge Circle, Inman.
