James Jennings Cook Jr

 James Jennings Cook, Jr, 84, of 257 Woodland Avenue in Inman, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at his residence. 

James was born in Greenville, South Carolina on August 18, 1940, a son of the late Vera Poteat Cook and James Jennings Cook, Sr

He was the husband of Alice Lyda Cook of the home.

James retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant after 36 years of service. He was a member of Free Chapel in Spartanburg, 

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Jimmy Cook of Inman, Ronald Cook of Inman, a daughter, Lorie Badger and her husband, Stan, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, two sisters, Susan Smart of Spartanburg, Ann Cook of Gramling, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29th at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman with Rev. Larry Braswell officiating. Private burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs. The family will receive friends in the chapel following the service Wednesday.
