James Franklin Christie, 97, of 580 Rock Hill Church Road in Inman, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
James was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 19, 1929, a son of the late Mollie Christie and was the widower of Betty Jo Pierce Christie.
He retired from Milliken and Company in Spartanburg and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church.
James faithfully served in the U.S. Navy following WWII in Japan, China, and the Aleutian Islands and was also past Scoutmaster of Inman Boy Scout Troop #27.
Survivors include a son, James A. Christie and his wife, Vanessa, of Inman, a granddaughter, Katie Christie of California, four grandsons; Andrew Christie (Corie) of Campobello, Jeremy Christie (Anna) of Inman, Seth Christie of Inman, Adam Christie of Anderson, two great granddaughters; Zoey Christie and Harper Chrisite both of Inman, and a daughter in law, Donna Barajas of Inman. In addition to his mother and wife, he was also predeceased by a son, Wesley Christie.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, October 5th at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman with Rev. Jeremiah Childers officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends 10:00AM until 11:00AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inman First Baptist Church, 14 N Howard St.,Inman, SC 29349.
