James L. Center

James L. Center, 76, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg.

James was born in Greer, SC on February 13, 1947, a son of the late Juanita Etolia (Stinson) Center and Freddie James Center.

He was the husband of Elaine Gregory Center. He worked as a paramedic and was of the Baptist faith. James was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and collecting antique fishing gear. His love for fishing showed in the many handmade crankbaits he created. James was a Shriner and a member of the Greer Masonic Lodge #146. He served in the U.S. Marines in the Vietnam War. 

In addition to his wife, James is survived by a son, Greg Center (Angie), of Honea Path, SC, a daughter, Cindy Bryant (Chris), of Boiling Springs, SC; six grandchildren, Chelsea, Delaney, Ashleigh, Lauren, Seth and Tyler, six great grandchildren, Rylan, Mason, Ellison, Rivers, Reece and Hutton.

The family is at his home and will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, February 16th at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC 

A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM on Friday in the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev Sean Fortner officiating.
