James Oliver "Jimmy" Camp

James Oliver "Jimmy" Camp, 82, of 167 Brookview Drive passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at his home after a period of declining health.

He was the son of the late James Ervin and Sallie Burrell Camp, a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a retired supervisor with Inman Mills and served in the U.S.Navy during World War II as a radioman aboard ships.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ella Ruth Settle Camp of the home and a daughter, Norma Jean (Jeannie) C. Davis of Columbia. Surviving also are two granddaughters, Holly D. White and her husband, Gary White, Jr. of Charleston and Allison D. Yeager and her husband, Dr. Jonathan Yeager also of Charleston. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Regan, Emma and Conor White of Charleston.

Graveside services will be held today, September 6th at 2 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman conducted by Rev. Bill Bynum and Rev. Robert M. Wofford. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

The family is at the home and, at Mr. Camp's request, respectfully ask that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to: Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 690 Park Rd., Inman, S.C. 29349 or a charity of one's choice.
