James A. "Goose" Thompson

James Autry "Goose" Thompson, 87, of 13579 Asheville Highway in Inman, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Goose was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on February 10, 1939, a son of the late Lucille Thompson Bryant.

He retired after 43 years of service at Mohawk Industries and was a member of Inman First Free Will Baptist Church.

His survivors include two sons; Jack Thompson and his wife, Pam of Inman, Gene Thompson and his wife, Nikki of Boiling Springs, his grandchildren; Jamey Gosnell, Jacey Puckett, Shyanne Thompson, and several great grandchildren.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Saturday 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Inman First Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 2nd at Inman First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev Sean Fortner officiating.
