Jackie "Jack" Banner
Jackie "Jack" Martin Banner, 64, of 1130 Peach Valley Circle, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr Banner was born in Winston-Salem, NC on December 3, 1950, a son of the late Jackson Gray and Grace Martin Banner. He was the husband of 43 years to Jan (Crocker) Banner. Jack was a graduate of N.C. State University where he received his B.S. in E.O. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Covenant, Inman Masonic Lodge #201 and was retired from Nestle, USA. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Matt G Banner and his wife Laura of Cleveland, Ohio, sister, Kay Banner-Mabe of Walnut Cove, NC, granddaughter, Jocelyn Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio, brother in law and sister in law, Jay and Linda Crocker of Longs, SC, niece, Cori Lee and family of Oak Hill, VA, nephew, Richard Mabe of Walnut Cove, NC and his father in law and mother in law, George and Margaret Crocker. He is also survived by his family of the heart, Doris Collins and family of Spartanburg, SC, Monica Kimsey and family of Spartanburg, Sue Hauser of Cleveland, Ohio and Jackie Robinson of Gaffney, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Banner Fuller and a brother Tommy Lee Needham. The family is at the home and will receive friends Friday, November 6, 2015 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of the Covenant. A memorial service will follow in the church at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 6th, with Rev Dan Blair officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ALS Clinic of Charlotte, NC, MDA of SC, Gentiva Home Health, Spartanburg Regional Home Health and Hospice, Dr Susan Finch, Dr H James Evans, Dr Garrett Snipes , our family at Covenant, at Emmaus, our Nestle's family and so many others who prayed for Jack over his 11 year journey.
