Jack Otto Golightly, Jr

Jack O. Golightly, Jr, 79, lifelong native of Inman died Friday, July 4, 2025 at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg.

Born March 4,1946 in Spartanburg, son of the late Jack Otto Golightly, Sr. and Bertie Lewis Golightly.

He was retired from Golightly Brothers Used Cars and was a member of Skylyn Drive ARP Church, where he was elected elder emeritus.

He was a member of the Inman Masonic Lodge #201, the Inman Order of the Eastern Star #169; and was the local president of the Inman Jaycees in 1972. In the past he served on the Board of Directors at the Harry White Manor in Spartanburg and the advisory board at Rosecrest Retirement Center in Inman.

He took pride in visiting the shut-ins and the nursing homes.

He is survived by a son, Mark Golightly and his wife Shannon of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two grandsons, Aiken and Griffin Golightly, who he loved dearly. A sister Kay Gilmer and her husband Ron of Greenwood, South Carolina; two nephews, Rev. Scott Gilmer and Rev. Dr. Ronnie Gilmer. a great-niece, Lydia Gilmer and great-nephew, Logan Golightly, a great-great nephew, Estil Crockett; and special friends, James Johnson and Patricia Lee. 

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother, Joe Golightly and a nephew, Jody Golightly.

A memorial service will be announced soon.
