J V Johnson, 73, of 443 Windy River Road, Boiling Springs, SC, joined the Lord Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his home. J V was born in Pickens, SC on September 29, 1939, a son of the late Ella Mae (Rhymer) Johnson and Joe Howard Johnson. He retired from Menzel and was of the Baptist faith.
J V is survived by Leona Welborn Jolley of the home, four sons Joe Dean Johnson (Martha), of Campobello; Ricky Johnson, of Landrum; Bobby Johnson, of Campobello; Dewayne Johnson (Christy), of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Alma Jean Turner, of Boiling Springs; Diane Strange, of Campobello; a brother, Marvin Johnson (Ruth), of Cross Hill, SC, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722 or the charity of your choice.
