Irene Sawyer West, 87, of 354 Woodland Drive, and formerly of N. Blackstock Road in Spartanburg, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Ridge Rest in Columbus, NC. Irene was born in Spartanburg on October 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Mary Lee Settle Sawyer and Donald Sawyer and was the widow of Boyd Theron West. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. She is survived by a son; Eric West of Campobello, a daughter in law; Lisa West of Campobello, a sister; Helen Varner of Campobello, a grandson; Alex West of Campobello, a granddaugter; Sara West of Campobello, a step granddaughter; Rachel McBee of Colorado. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Saturday, June 30th at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 30th at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gary Hensley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Baptist Church, 200 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
