Christianna Irene Martin Jackson
Mrs. Christianna Irene Martin Jackson, 94, formerly of Spring Street, Westover and Heritage Point passed away peacefully Saturday, June 21st, 2008 in Spartanburg, SC.
She was born in Monongalia, WV on September 29, 1913, the daughter of the late James E. and Audie Jay (Holland) Martin and was the widow of the late Richard E. Jackson who passed away in December of 1977.
Irene graduated from Morgantown High School in 1932 and attended West Virginia University. She retired from New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Boston and moved back to Morgantown, WV where she was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamalia Jay and her husband William F. Hollenbach Jr. of Inman, SC and Susan Irene and her husband John B. Tarrant of Manchester, NH; and one son-in-law Freeman R. Summers of Melrose, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Janet Lea Summers who passed away in March of 2005, and two brothers Ralph V. Martin who passed away in 1997 and Eugene D. Martin who passed away in 1987.
A memorial service with private interment will be held in Lynnfield, MA at a later date.
