Irene Dorothy Greene Ayers, 88, of 63 Blackstock Road Inman, and formerly of 3rd St. Inman, passed away Saturday, July 12th, Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum.
She was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina on April 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Louise Black Greene and E.R. Greene. She was the widow of Clarence Ayers and retired from Abbott Labs.
She was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church in Inman. Her survivors include two daughters; Doris A. Walker of Boiling Springs, Hilda J. Jolley of Inman, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, Danny, four sisters and two brothers.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends 1:00 until 2:00 PM Monday at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Mark Williams. Burial will be in Lake Bowen Baptist Church Cemetery in Inman.
