John Ferguson, 92, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home of natural causes and went home to be with his Savior.  Born August 25, 1931 in Cambuslang, Scotland, he was the son of the late Flora Ferguson Docherty.

Young Ian was born and raised in Scotland and served in the Royal Navy and Merchant Marines.  After completing his service to his country, he met and fell in love with a young woman named Moira Allan who he later married when they both emigrated to America in 1956.

Ian was a devoted husband to Moira for 64 years prior to her death in 2021, father of four daughters, Papa to nine grandchildren, great grandfather of fifteen and recently became a great, great grandfather.  Ian was a hard working man who raised four daughters while working three jobs to allow his wife to be at home with their children.  He loved to read, watch Jeopardy and could fix anything.  He loved Manchester United Football (soccer in the U.S.), his beloved Glasgow Rangers Football team as well as fishing, golf, gardening and anything that allowed him to be outdoors.  

Survivors include daughters, Debra Ferguson of Greenville, SC (Gregory Reynolds of Fountain Inn, SC); Diane Pleasant (Scott) of Boiling Springs, SC; Laura Paulus (Gary) of Ocala, FL; Melody Williams (Brenton) of Adelaide, South Australia; grandchildren, Heather, Alex, Kellie-Rose, Alexis, Brittany, Blake, Jamie and John; great grandchildren, Tyler, Carleigh, Caleb, Kaelyn, Madyson, Aubrey, Brooklyn, Gabriel, Ian, Macon, Peyton, Hunley, Zayden, Lachlan and Wyatt.  

He was also predeceased by one grandson, Derrick.  

The family will mourn the loss of John at their respective homes.
