Hugh Steve Whitehead

Hugh Steve Whitehead, 72, of  Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, South Carolina.   Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on February 5, 1952, he was a son of the late Betty Mae (Moss) Whitehead and Hugh Hill Whitehead. He was the husband of the late Maxine Sherbert Whitehead.  Steve served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and worked as a maintenance mechanic. 

He is survived by a son, Stephen Whitehead, two daughters, Jessica Lafave (James), Lacey Whitehead and a sister, Patricia Sosbee, and four grandchildren, Gracie Whitehead, Abigail Lopez, Kayden Towery, and Ryleigh Towery.  He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Callie Whitehead. 

Graveside Service will be held at 12:00pm Wednesday May 22, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, South Carolina with Chaplain Darnell Durrah officiating the service.  Family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
