Horace Dupree Hammett, 81, of Campobello, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Spartanburg County on November 24, 1939, he was a son of the late Smiley Hammett and Ester (Lawter) Hammett.
Dupree was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a loom fixer at Spartan Mills for over 30 years.
He is survived by his son, Ricky Hammett and his wife Kim; brother, Kenneth Hammett; two nephews, Robert Hammett and Kent Hammett; niece, Sharon Darwin; one grandson, Trey Bullman and his wife Dare and one great grandchild, Clary Bullman.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one sister, Carolyn Haynes and a longtime special friend, Ms. Jean Turner.
A graveside service will be held at Holston Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Joe White officiating.
