Homer "Buddy" Miller, III
Homer "Buddy" Dewey Miller, III 63, of 890 Winterhawk Circle, Inman, SC, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. "Buddy" was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 10, 1951, a son of the late Doris Rue (Galyon) Miller and Homer Dewey Miller, Jr. He was the husband of Debra (Kimmons) Miller and was formerly employed at Greenwood Inc in Greer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg where he was a former deacon and a member of the Media Ministry. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Tori Zirpel (Mike), of Campobello; a son, Homer D Miller, IV (Erren), of Campobello, a sister, Irene Miller, of Washington state, two brothers, Chris Miller, MD and Kelly Miller (Sonya), both of Whitewater, Kansas and three grandchildren, Mikayla, Bailey and Colin Zirpel. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. The family is at the home of his son at 245 Ridings Rd., Campobello and will receive friends Tuesday, June 9th from 1:00 — 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM. Rev Mark Cannon, Rev Phillip Park, Rev Robin Caldwell and Rev Darrell Cothran will officiate. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 6:00 — 9:00 PM in the upstairs of Wild Wings Cafe in Spartanburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Media Ministry of First North, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
