Hiley Gene Mahaffey, was escorted by his angels into the presence of Jesus on March 11, 2024 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, SC. He was born on September 19, 1941 to Paul and Minnie Mahaffey. He is survived by his wife and life partner of 44 years, Joan Taylor Mahaffey; four children, Angela Lee (Boyce), Heidi Cole, Pamela Babb (Bobby), Scott Emory (Edie); seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; Sadie his canine baby; his brother Floyd Mahaffey; and his sister, Oletta Turner. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roy Mahaffey and Robert Mahaffey.

Hiley was a faithful member and loving servant of the Lord for many years, serving as a deacon in at least three churches over the years. He was currently serving at Cross Hill Community Church in Spartanburg. A very faithful member for 21 years, he traveled with
2 R More Southern Gospel Ministry serving as soundman. He was an industrial contract painter by trade, often called the best wallpaper man in Spartanburg County, only to have been retired the last four years of his life. Hiley enjoyed serving the Lord, loved his wife and family, working, and he loved his dog.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Cross Hill Community Church, 180 Wingo Heights Road, Spartanburg SC,  funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brian Tillotson and Rev. John Guffey officiating. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
