Hershel Lamar Smith

Hershel Lamar Smith, 71, of 63 Blackstock Road went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3rd, at Magnolia Manor of Inman.
Born in Walhalla, SC on September 21, 1940, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Chandler) Smith.
He was a member of Grace Way Church in Inman and worked as a manager at the retail chain Roses for many years and retired from Christian Supply.
Mr. Smith is survived by his double first cousin, Phyllis Denson and her husband Buddy of Columbus, GA; one aunt, Ann Culpepper of Phenix City, AL and many cousins. He is also survived by several special friends, Laura Wallace and her husband, Jim of Spartanburg and Arthur Raines and Dean Jackson both of Inman.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Way Church, located at John Dodd Road and Asheville Highway at 4:00 PM on Monday, February 6th, with Pastor Jan King and Pastor David Powell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made: to Spartanburg Humane Society ,150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
