Herman Lavon Dickey

Herman Lavon Dickey, 46, of 8628 Valley Falls Road, Boiling Springs, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, September 28th, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Lavon was born in Troy, Alabama on January 23, 1979, a son of Ann and Herman Dickey, Jr, of Troy, Alabama. He was the husband of Wanda Rhymer Dickey of the home.

He attended Troy University and Columbia Southern University and was the Manager of Safety and Compliance for Charter-Spectrum in Spartanburg. He was also the owner and operator of Narrow Way Firearms and Supply in Boiling Springs.

Lavon loved and trusted his Lord and was an active member of Bible Baptist Church in Landrum where he had also taught the Married Young Adult Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters; Cierra Brigman and her husband, Josh of Boiling Springs, Miranda Messer and her husband, Cameron, of Chesnee; a step- sister, Heaven Dickey of Enterprise, Alabama; a half sister, Kacee Dickey of Enterprise, Alabama; his mother in law, Kathy Morris Miller of Spartanburg; his aunt, Linda "Lulu" Hamm and her husband, Bud, of Troy, Alabama; and four grandchildren; Langston, Logan, Colt (his Bros), and Saylor (his Boo Boo).

A graveside service of life celebration will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 2nd at New Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery, 2800 Chesnee Road, Columbus, North Carolina 28722 with Dr. Tommy Turner officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are: Jeff Messick, Jeff McIntyre, Eddie Arrowood, Dean Fish, Jimmy Williams, Wes Thompson, Walt Karczewski, and Joey Morris.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church, "In memory of Lavon Dickey for Missions" 330 W. Finger Street Landrum, South Carolina 29356.
