Mrs Helen Eugenia Cooke Smith, 79 of 63 Blackstock Rd. ,Inman formerly of 105 Zimmerman Rd., Inman passed away Thursday March 6th, 2008 at Magnolia Manor of Inman
Mrs Smith was born in Campobello, SC on February 20, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles Frank and Lora (Evington) Cooke. She was the widow of Hamish "Dick" Neal Smith.
She is survived by one daughter: Janice S. Taylor and husband Ray of Inman, one brother: Calvin Cooke of Inman, two grandchildren: Angie Taylor and husband Matt, David Taylor and wife Lynn, two great-grandchildren: Tyler Stephens and Kendel Rhymer , all of Inman. She was predeceased by two brothers: Marvin and Alvin Cooke.
She retired from Delta-Woodside Co and was a member of Apalache Baptist Church where she was a choir member.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Greer, SC conducted by Rev. Hershel Crain and Rev. Eddie Cooper. The family is at the home of her daughter, 294 Inman Rd, Inman and will receive friends at the cemetery immediatly following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Apalache Baptist Church Building Fund, 1915 Gap Creek Rd., Greer, SC 29651.
