Mrs. Hazel Henderson Splawn Gilbert, 78, of 8362 Cedar Lane Spartanburg, SC passed away Monday, May 25th, 2009 at Regional Hospice Home

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Valley Falls, SC on May 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Willard Pasco and Mamie (Brown) Splawn. She was the wife of Smiley Gilbert and was first married to the late Hugh Henderson.
In addition to her husband she is survived by 2 daughters: Linda Kirkland and husband Ken of Duncan, Deborah Foster and husband Eddie of Boiling Springs, 1 son: Steve Henderson and wife JoAnn of Inman, l stepdaughter: Deborah Seay of Chesnee, 3 stepsons: Kenny Gilbert of Landrum, Ronnie Gilbert of Inman, Randy Gilbert of Campobello, 3 sisters: Gail Dowling of Inman, Sarah Bowers of Roebuck, Faye Gowan of Campobello, 1 brother: James Splawn of Spartanburg, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.She was predeceased by a sister: Margaret Webb.
She retired from One Price Clothing and was a homemaker

She was a charter member of Gateway Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult 2 Sunday School Class.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday 7-9 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at Gateway Baptist Church, Inman, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27th, with Rev. Ray Stuart, Rev Tom Sawyer and Rev Tim Ramsey officiating.

Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 1600 Old Furnace Road, Inman, SC 29349.
