Harvey Carl Griswold, age 81, went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 30, 2020, surrounded by family at the home of his son after a lengthy battle with COPD.
Born in Mill Spring, NC, he was the son of the late Lem and Ollie Burrell Griswold. He is predeceased by his wife, Jean Lollis Griswold. He is survived by his son, Kenny and wife Donnette Griswold. He has 2 stepdaughters, Stephanie Tillman (Sean) of Texas and Kim Parrish (Lee) of Hickory Tavern, South Carolina. He was blessed with three granddaughters, Nikki Griswold Williams and her husband Tanner, Kendall Griswold, and Amanda Griswold. He also had two great grandsons, Aiden and Carter Williams. In addition, Harvey is survived by many brothers and sisters: Margaret Carroll (L.V.), Robert Griswold (Shirley), Marie Greene, Edna Fowler (Jerry), Janette Fowler (Robert), Don Griswold, Dickey Griswold, Mack Griswold, and WInston Griswold (Doris). He is predeceased by a brother, Harold Griswold.
He retired from Spartanburg Steel Products in Spartanburg, S.C. He enjoyed working in the yard, and tinkering with cars. He enjoyed drag racing with his son for many years and watching his granddaughters play soccer.
Due to the current global situation, there will be a graveside service for the immediate family on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 2:00PM at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, S.C. conducted by Rev. Rick Brown.
