Harold Edward Wingo, Sr., 82, of 5230 New Cut Rd. Inman, SC, passed away Saturday, June 30th, at Camp Care Nursing Home in Inman. Mr. Wingo was born in Inman, S.C. on April 7, 1930, a son of the late Paul Booker and Inez Harling Wingo. He was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Inman Masonic Lodge # 201 and had retired from textiles as a loom fixer. He had also worked in hardware sales and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Edward Wingo, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Inman, Gary James Wingo and his wife Kim of Wellford, David Mark Wingo of Wellford, John Carol Wingo of Lyman and a daughter, Susan Wingo Bird and her husband Tommy of Inman. also two sisters, Mary Edna Tooke and Ruth Cook both of Inman. There are 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jody Golightly and Ashley Loyd.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 2 ,2012 at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM . Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Inman Mills Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Hames officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC. The family will be at the home of Susan & Tommy Bird, 150 Amber Dr., Inman, SC 29349
