Mr. Dallas Harold Blackwell, 72, of 152 Brannon Belcher Rd. Boiling Springs, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Blackwell was born in Dark Corners Community on August 15, 1936, the son of the late William F. and Elsie Mae Belue Blackwell Metcalf. He was the husband of Clarice High Blackwell. Other survivors include two daughters, Darlene Blackwell of Greenville, Kimberley Plemmons of Spartanburg, a son, Ray Blackwell of Spartanburg, a step daughter, Susan Simmons of Boiling Springs, two step sons, Robert E. Bridgeman of Spartanburg, William Bridgeman of Spartanburg, a sister, Geneva Kirby of Baltimore, Maryland, two brothers, James Blackwell of Cheraw, SC, Roosevelt Blackwell of Greer, and two grandchildren, Dakota Jackson Plemmons and Savannah Nicole Plemmons, both of Spartanburg.
He retired from Hubbard Hall Chemicals in Inman and he served in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Airlift and Germany Occupation Era.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 1:OOpm on Tuesday, September 2nd, with Pastor Mark White officiating.. Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday 12noon until 1:OOpm. at Seawright Funeral Home.
