Harley Madison "Mat" Waddell, 77, of 1291 Holly Springs Road Inman, SC, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, South Carolina.

Born in Greer, SC on April 29, 1941, he was a son of the late John Sam Waddell and Sevena Pearl (Smith) Waddell and was the husband of the late Sandra (Bridwell) Waddell. He was also predeceased by one son, Madison Todd Waddell.

Mr. Waddell was a graduate of Byrnes High School "Class of 1959", served in the United States Army and retired from M.B. Kahn Construction Company after more than 30 years of employment.

He was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church in Greer, South Carolina, Hejaz Shriner and Bailey Masonic Lodge # 146 in Greer, South Carolina and was the President of the Holly Springs/Inman community watch.

He is survived by his son, Tyson Waddell and his wife Julia of Inman, South Carolina; two grandsons, Walt Waddell of Inman, South Carolina and Brett Mcrae and his wife Nicole of Inman, South Carolina; a granddaughter, Sheena Waddell of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Sullivan, Alyrose; one sister, Sarah Holland and her husband Jerry of Sanderson, Florida; one brother, John Richard "Rabbit" Waddell and his wife Dell of Taylors, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Seawright Funeral Home.

Cryptside Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681 with Sheriff Chuck Wright and Chaplain Justin Nelson officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Holland, Steve Lawter, Kenny Dickerson, Mark Bradley, Ronnie Waddell, Brian Henson, Brett Mcrae and Walt Waddell.
