Martha Gwendolyn ( Perkins) Frazier, 77, of 2392 Foster Rd., passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Frazier was born in Cairo, GA in Grady County and spent her early years in Whigham, GA . She was a daughter of the late Marvin Jackson Perkins and Mary Evelyn Elizabeth (Riner) Perkins. She was the beloved wife of James David Frazier and had celebrated over 55 years of marriage.
Mrs. Frazier earned her BA degree in Elementary Education and worked as a school teacher before dedicating over 28 years of service at Walmart. She was a member of the Shoal Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Canton, Ga. but was currently attending the Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son: Ronald Frazier and his wife Laura Hauser Frazier of Cumming, Ga., her daughter, Alice D' Lynn James and her husband Gregory of Inman, SC, a sister, Beverly Jarrell of Winston Salem, NC, three brothers, Deryck Perkins of Tifton, Ga., Jackson Perkins and his wife Carol of Cookeville, TN, and W. L. Perkins and his wife Debbie of Columbus, GA. There are four grandchildren, Gracie, Maggie and Ethan James and John Hauser Barr. There is also a sister-in-law, Eve Perkins of Phenix City, Alabama, wife of Mrs. Frazier's deceased brother, the late Tommy Riner Perkins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Seawright Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral chapel conducted by Elder Daniel Wood, Elder Randall Cagle and Elder Marty Smith. Serving as pallbearers will be: Paul Allen, Mark Trippe, Dayle Jarrell, Clay Jarrell, Chris Perkins, Parker Allen and Graham Allen. The burial will be in the Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 35213 Cool Springs Church Rd., Travelers Rest, SC 29690. Memorials may be made to the Gwendolyn Frazier Memorial Fund, C/O Seawright Funeral Home, PO Box 192, Inman, SC 29349.
