Gwendolyn Jean "Gwen" Esselburn, 52, of 150 Meadowview Drive Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Sunday, September 22nd, at her residence.
Gwendolyn was born in Spartanburg on January 23, 1961, a daughter of Barbara Jefferies Barnette, of Inman, and the late Robert Hugh Barnette, Sr. She was the wife of Marvin Esselburn and was employed at Network Geriatrics of Spartanburg. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Inman where she was active in the Lady's Auxiliary and the Children's Ministry. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two daughters; Crystal Barnette (Jason Hall) of Inman, Sommer Esselburn of Wellford; a son, Nicholas Esselburn (Carla) of Spartanburg; three sisters, Debbie Burnett of Greenville, Patty Newton of Inman, Jackie Evans of Boiling Springs; two brothers, Robert Barnette and Jeff Barnette of Inman; one grandson, Tanner Hall of Inman; two brother in laws; two sister in laws; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family is at 112 Glassy Drive, Inman and will receive friends Thursday 6-7:00 PM at First Freewill Baptist Church, Inman. A memorial service will be held at First Freewill Baptist Church, Inman, at 7:00 on Thursday, September 26th, with Rev. Sean Fortner and Rev. Earl Hendrix officiating.
