Guy Junior Burrell
Guy Junior Burrell, 85, of 828 Redstone Drive, Inman, SC, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Richard Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home in Anderson, SC. Guy was born in Spartanburg County, SC on June 11, 1931, a son of the late Columbus and Bell (Barnwell) Burrell. He was the husband of Thelma Elizabeth (Alverson) Burrell, retired from Inman Mills and was a member of Inman First Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Kathy M Douglas, of Inman; a son, Ray D Burrell, of Inman; a sister, Rosa Ford, of Inman and eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Justin, Kristin, Amy, Anna, Braden, Elaina and Harper Grace. Guy was predeceased by one sister and five brothers. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, SC, at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 17th, with Rev Sean Fortner and Rev Earl Hendrix officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inman First Freewill Baptist Church, 90 Blackstock Rd, Inman, SC 29349.
