Inman, SC--Mr. Grady L. Hembree, 87, of Inman, passed away, Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.
Born in Spartanburg, SC on August 23, 1921, he was the son of the late Farrell D. and Lilly (Bailey) Hembree and was the husband of the late Carolyn Foster Hembree having celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Mr. Hembree was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg and worked for Prince Growers Supply in Inman for many years as a parts specialist and later with Toy Hyder Farms in Campobello.
He is survived by two daughters, Shirley H. Foster of Inman and Vicki H. Steadman and her husband Joe of Inman; one sister, Mildred Lisle of Landrum; four brothers, John Hembree, James Hembree, Frank Hembree all of Inman and Ralph Hembree of Fort Worth Texas; three grandchildren, Brandi P. Simmons and her husband Ed of Inman, Jessica C. Steadman and her fiance' Brad Rustin of Greenville, SC and J. Patrick Steadman and his wife Veronica of Columbus, GA.; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Simmons and J. Preston Steadman.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 11 :00 AM on Thursday, March 12th, 2009 with Dr. Michael Hamlet officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
