Glenn A. Bush, 82, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum, SC. A native of Upper Marlboro, MD and Mobile, AL; he was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. BJ Bush. Surviving are his wife Margaret Bush, son, John Baker (Sukey Starkey), daughter, Valerie Wheeler (Don), son Michael Bush, brothers, Larry Bush (Beverly), Ed Bush, 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 2 great granddaughters. He was predeceased by his sister Adelle Singley and daughter-in-law Dora Bankins-Bush. He retired from the US Navy and was formerly employed by The Washington Star newspaper and DataMail. He was a member of UMC of the Covenant and was active in the church choir. He loved skiing and fishing, and was a charter boat captain. He had also been involved with Boy Scouts of America and TASC for Teens. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and The American Legion.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 28th at 2:00pm at The United Methodist Church of the Covenant, 9020 Ashville Highway followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Boy Scouts of America, Rosecrest Retirement Community, 200 Fortress Dr., Inman, SC 29349 or to a charity of your choice.
