Gladys Blackwell Newman, 92, of 400 Locust Grove Rd. passed away Sunday, June 15th, 2008 at Valley Falls Terrace.
Mrs. Newman was born in Polk County, NC on January 6, 1916, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Edgins) Blackwell. She was the widow of Floyd Newman, was a member of North Pacolet Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Guynell Shields of Spartanburg and Joyce Miller of Moore, SC. Nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren also survive her. Mrs Newman was predeceased by two sons, Fred and Kenneth Newman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnan Lawson officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
