Gladys Strange Horton

Landrum, South Carolina--- Gladys Strange Horton, 82, of 124 Horton Road Landrum, South Carolina passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at her residence. Born in Landrum, South Carolina on April 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Lee Strange and was the wife of the late Ayllon Grayson Horton. Mrs. Horton was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church in Landrum, South Carolina and was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Shumpert of Anderson, South Carolina; Glenda Whiteside of Landrum, South Carolina and Betty Teague and husband David of Inman, South Carolina; one son, David Horton of Chesnee, South Carolina; grandchildren, Gary Shumpert, Gary Shumpert II, Jennifer Lynn, Scott Shumpert, Travis Whiteside, Lucas Teague, Logan Teague, Madeline Porner, Teagan Lynn, Neely Lynn, Libby Lynn, Eliza Whiteside, Troy Whiteside, Dillon Shumpert, Meredith Shumpert, Lee Horton and Avery Lafaille.

In addition to her mother and husband, she was also predeceased by two sons, Jimmy Horton and Ronnie Horton.

A private family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Landrum, South Carolina.
