Gladys Fetzer Burns

Gladys Fetzer Burns, 90, passed away Sunday, April 24th, 2016 at Windsor House. Mrs. Burns was born in Cleveland, TN . on December 5, 1925, a daughter of the late Luke L. and Annabelle Norton Fetzer. She was the widow of Richard Herman Burns and was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Alcoa First United Methodist Church in Alcoa, TN. She was very active in her church Sunday School Class and the Ladies Circle of the church. She also enjoyed being a "Red Hatter".
Mrs. Burns is survived by a son, Robert Michael Burns of Van Nuys, CA., a daughter, Ruth Burns Kilgo and her husband John of Inman, SC, a sister, Margaret Liner of Chattanooga, TN,, two grandchildren, Ian M. Burns, Roland C. Burns and two great-grandchildren, Emma Burns and Aidan Burns. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Claude Fetzer, Felix Fetzer, Jim Brock, and two sisters, Jean Vellenoweth and Virginia Kelly.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held in TN in the near future. No local services in SC are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church: Alcoa First United Methodist Church, 617 Gilbert St., Alcoa, TN. 37701.
