Athol Gilmore (Gil) Altman II, 69, of Columbia, SC, passed away Sunday, July 18th, at Prisma Health - Greer.
Gil was born in Florence, SC on August 10, 1951, a son of the late Francis and Elizabeth Altman. He is survived by two sisters; Peggy McClees (William); Sandra Bond (George), two brothers; Marion Altman (Donna), Jody Weaver; and three granddaughters; Paitin, Reilly, and Sutton Altman. In addition to his parents, Gil was also predeceased by a son, Gil Altman.
Gil retired from the United States Army where he received numerous medals and awards, and later was a self employed private detective.
A memorial service will be conducted by Morris Funeral Home on Saturday, July, 31st 2021 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery Highway 51, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
