Gertrude Faye Gilbert, 78, of 63 Blackstock Road Inman, died Friday, September 14th, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum.
She was born in Spartanburg County on April 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Quissie Gregory and Frank West and was the widow of Bobby Gilbert, Sr.
She is survived by a son, Eddie Gilbert and wife Denise of Inman, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sons Bobby Gilbert Jr., Donnie Gilbert, and a sister, Frances Huitt. She has worked in department store retail sales.
The family is at the home of her son Eddie Gilbert at 2886 Bishop Road and will receive friends Saturday 6-8:00 pm at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 16th, with Rev. Harold Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills 130 Forest Glen Drive Columbus, NC 28722.
